Emma Swales Ceramics
Handmade pottery

Handmade pottery from my studio workshop in Lutterworth, Leicestershire, UK. I use various techniques to create my ceramics, including throwing clay on the pottery wheel and hand-building pottery forms. I make limited editions, small batches, and one-off pieces. This means no two items are the same, even if the glaze combinations or finishing techniques are similar. You can be certain you are buying a truly one-off handmade pottery piece with its own character. I call it ‘perfectly imperfect’. I also take on commissions where time allows and the pottery design fits my style.
My ceramics collections feature expressive glazing to create an affinity with each piece. Most of my work is influenced by the landscape of the Lake District, Peak District, and elsewhere including coastal landscapes. Most of my pottery is functional, even the bigger statement pieces. All my pottery is intended to be used and enjoyed.
